I’m new to this – where do I begin?
No problem! Let’s set up your complimentary consultation to figure out a good starting point for your research.
What are some examples of research questions that could guide our work?
- “My mom never talked about her family. Now that she’s gone, I feel like I’ve missed out on something. Who were her ancestors, and what happened to them?”
- “My grandfather had a child with another woman besides my grandmother, and I would like to know about my relatives who are descended from them.”
- “I have a great-grandfather who was reputed to be a famous carpenter. Can you find out his name and tell me more about him and his work?”
- “My dad knows a lot about his grandparents and their siblings, and he even knows the name of one of his ancestors who was a slave. What I don’t know is where they came from prior to coming here. Can you help?”
- “I got my DNA results last week and found out that I have first and second cousins I knew nothing about. Can you figure how we are related?”
- “I would like to know about my ancestor’s immigration experience. Can you find his naturalization records and summarize them?”
